  • Atleast with a coalition, the voice of 63% of the nation - the MAJORITY who voted agianst Mr. Stephen H. - will be heard.

  • I think you and I had different ballots. You see, in my ballot, I had to mark an X next to the candidate I was voting FOR, where apparently in your ballot, you had to mark who you are voting AGAINST.

So sarcasm aside, in a real democracy you vote FOR a candidate/party. Harper got 38%, Coalition got 0% - as simple as that. In the next election, should the coalition run as one and will get 62%, I will not like it, but will have to respect it.

  • @GinaGitanita 38,545 people in Calgary voted for Harper. Why don't you get YOUR facts straight.

  • actually it's a Liberal-NDP Coalition, the Block has agreed to support the coalition. Get your facts straight. Secondly. Most of you who attack the coalition think that we have an American style system of how governements are created. you idiots dont realize that MP's, and political parties and even Prime Ministers are not elected to govern the country. MPs are elected to sit as representatives in the House of Common. And throught principally politcal parties, these MP FORM GOVERNMENTS!

  • The funny thing is that the latest Angus Reid poll show that is Jack Layton leader that most people see as honest and trustworthy and as being the person who most cares about the things they believe in. There seems to be some discrepancy between who people trust and support. Thank your for the threat of coalition that protected women's right to pay equity. Public campaign funding is vital to a healthy democracy. Even Obama who turned it down says he strongly believes in it, and for good reason.

  • it's fun when people have no idea that canada is not america.

  • Did u read about the coalition deal that in year 2000 the progressive conservatives , conservatives and the bloc had aggread if Chretien was to win a minority , they would form a coalition , with .. The Separtatist , and guess who they decided who would be their PM , Yes It's true my friends , Mr Stockwell Day ! Shocker !

The Bloc released the agreement yesterday , Titled Consensus leadership for a New Century

Mr Day denied the agreement , what a liar !

  • A coalition government is not bad for democracy. Forcing a coalition no one wants on the people who voted just two months ago, and clearly did not trust either parties with the majority is irresponsible. Furthermore...what two months are talking about?! The parlament would have been in recess for the holidays by December 18th anyway, so if anything, we are talking about two weeks of "cool off" period. Time out, if you will.

  • Why would a 'coalition' government be a bad thing for democracy? If they can all work together and agree on things isn't that the purpose of a government? What I really think is horrible for democracy is taking 2 months off during the worst economic crises in decades, and stopping other democratically elected officials from working within the established system.

  • Hey alon114

Iam not sure if u watched my Anti-Coalition Rally video I made yesterday , Both sides clashed at times , Great video my friend !

Anyhow , I just wanted to tell u all , about my video , Your Gonna Love it .. I made it just for you ! kindly, Orphan Gordie News

  • I am so tired of hearing this childish 63% majority claim. Counting YOUR way, 72 pecent voed against the Liberals, and 83 percent against the NDP. Get with it. Maybe Harper did not have the votes of the majority of the Canadian voters, but he had the MOST votes, almost twice as much as the Liberals, and thrice as much as the NDP. I am not even counting the Bloc. They are a provincial party, and could not get a seat outside of Quebec.

0% voted FOR coalition, 100% voted AGAINST it.
