Traxxas Blast + Mamba Max

I picked up the Traxxas Blast after a man made lake formed where we usually fly our planes. It was too tempting to pass up so I looked around for a fairly inexpensive boat to test out the waters. The Blast was ok out of the box but I knew from the start I was going brushless!

I had an old Mamba Max and motor combo from one of my 2WD trucks laying around so I dropped it in. After waterproofing the ESC with Shoe Goo and water cooling the motor I was ready to go. I started using NiMH packs but that wasn't enough. I tried 3S LiPo but that really cooked the system. I found 2250 mAh 2S worked the best.

The Mamba was getting way too hot so I watercooled it by sealing a plastic cover over the heatsink and pumping water through it. It seems to work. Haven't fried anything yet!
