http://www.synergy-athletics.com - This is one of our 8th graders lifting a keg plus 40 lbs of chain by the "hub." It is not as difficult as a real hub lift with a plate, because the keg has a small lip. However, it requires a great deal of hand, forearm, and finger strength perform this movement. We used the keg because it was easy to load extra weight on.

I attempted this move after him, and it took me 3 attempts to get it up! No joke, feat of strength for such a young athlete.

  • i like this...for grip strength i got to a park and i found a rock that weighs idk probably between 60-70 lbs pick it up and hold it for 15-20 seconds 30 times in each hand

  • I like weight plate pinch for grip, too. put two plates of appropriate weight together, smooth side out, pinch and lift.
