If you like that, the new Space Battleship Yamato 2199 was released last April in Japan. The 26-episode arc will be shown on 7 movies. It's the same Quest for Iscandar series using today's animation and new voice actors. Haven't heard whether the English Dubbed version will be made for America yet.

Meh, I don't like yamato 2199 much. I've watched it subbed, and it's pretty bad in my opinion. Though that was only, like, the pilot.

Yes, but I was referring to a live action movie. Then again, that would be impossible considering how Space Battleship Yamato 2010 ended.

to be pedantic, the comet empire storyline WAS a movie first, it was popular enough to warrant being adapted into a full series, although with certain changes made to the ending. (the movie was called "farewell to space battleship yamato")

I'd love to see a Yamato movie in which they fight the Comet Empire. Go, Star Force!

My god! The intro music alone just brings back the memories. They showed this on WUTV Buffalo wayyy back in the early 1980's.
