I had the same disconnecting problem and simply changed the batteries and put tape on the sides of the housing. That fixed it.

Does this apply to weird stuff like controller disconnecting ONLY when you shoot too much a minigun/shotgun and a few other automatic weapons ?

I had this problem, so i offer a solution. I found that Nyko rechargeable battery's work the best with the tightest fit.

It works perfectly, I only put tape on the sides of the pack because my batteries fit really tight. If it is still disconnecting you should try different tape or maybe put an extra piece on each side of the pack.

@SaraAB87 some of the old batery packs were loose on the inside, too. but you make an interesting point. maybe microsoft is trying. anyone find this problem with newer controllers?
