Princess Mononoke - Eminence Symphony Orchestra Otakon 2007

The Eminence Symphony Orchestra was founded in 2003 in Sydney Australia by Hiroaki Yura. Yura concentrates on the music of notable Japanese video games and anime with a view to familiarising and popularising classical genre music with a more youthful audience.

Here a chamber ensemble works on The Legend of Ashitaka from the Princess Mononoke score for the Eminence Otakon 2007 show. The haunting score is by Joe Hisaishi, the soundtrack composer for nearly all of Miyazaki's productions.

I had the fortune to be there... oh, this brings back a day of wonderful memories at the concert. Heh... even now, about 10 months later, this piece still makes me tear up, it's so beautifully done.
