@Antaios632 To correct my own mistake, this is the Viderunt Omnes by Leonin, Perotin's predecessor :-)

To answer your question, JPBehr, the song at the beginning is by Perotin, Viderunt Omnes.
-
Who composed this song at the very beginning?

Great series, particularly the first series with Palestrina and Tallis

Very nice, this looks an excellent DVD. If you like sacred music, please check out my own piano composition "Deo Omnis Gloria" (click on my name and go to Part 5 of the video). All comments welcomed! Thank you.
Three live concerts based on this series and featuring some of the original film footage will take place at London's Southbank Centre from 3-5 April.

@16choir Thank you for a great evening at The South Bank Centre on 3rd April; it was a wonderful way to spend an Easter weekend!

@pondviewer12 Thanks! Delighted to hear you enjoyed it. We're back at the Southbank for a Christmas Concert on 9 December but hopefully you'll have a chance to see The Sixteen live again before then!
If you're London based you should try and make it to the Choral Pilgrimage performance in Greenwich's Old Royal Naval Chapel on Thursday 13 May. It promises to be a very special evening!
