This is footage taken of the 2009 Moloka'i Hoe, with the Pu'uwai Outrigger Canoe Club Novice "A" paddlers being the focus of this video....
What was neat about this crew of nine (9) was that five (5) of them are novice "A" paddlers, and have never been on a canoe, let alone in the ocean...
The funny thing is that these guys were actually in the front of the pack, untill a wrong turn was made and they ended up going south...
At the end of it, they ended up going 52.6 miles off course and still finished ahead of nine other canoes...
Wow...imagine if they didn't go off course...
