President Obama Speaks on Missile Defense in Europe

The President announces a new phased, adaptive approach for missile defense in Europe after the Secretary of Defense and the Joint Chiefs of Staff recommended that he revise the previous Administrations 2007 plan for missile defense. This new approach is based on an assessment of the Iranian missile threat, and a commitment to deploy technology that is proven, cost-effective, and adaptable to an evolving security environment. This reminds me of when Carter was running against Reagan . Carter cut out a long range bomber. This was built in California. Carter said it was not needed. What he could not share with the voters was that the cruise missile had made bombers obsolete and the bomber would be a waste of money. Reagan who knew this attack him anyway on it. Carter was right about this and many other matters. I voted for Regan but now knowing more , I believe I did not vote for the right man.

@seventyfive1 : Carter made some mistakes so did Reagen. He reverse course on getting off of foreign oil. We have fought three wars over oil since then. He cut income tax for the most wealthy while increasing payroll taxes (paid by working folks) which help fund that tax cut. And then deficit spent. He did get it right with dealing with the Soviet Union. Like all people he was not perfect and neither was Carter.

How about job care reform?

Healthcare doesnt pay the rent, put food on the table, pay the bills. Americans need jobs, jobs, jobs. When unemployment rate is at 10%, you focus on a bill that jail American for not paying.!!! Democrats, are you on board with this? We are living from paycheck to paycheck. How do you create jobs when half of your stimulus bill is sitting in a bank? At 10% unemployment, that $ shouldve been gone.

Death panel?

Too old to marry, too young to bury. This statement was made by a dying grandmother. She applied for govt. healthcare in Feb 09. Her case got delayed until Dec 09. She received hospice care in Dec 09 and suddenly her govt. healthcare got approved. You see, its cheaper to pay for hospice care than to pay for treatments of cancer. Furthermore once she received hospice care, all other treatment halted.

Govt. rationing + delay service = silence killer.

Who I am is not important, but I can tell you where to search for more death panel cases. Look at the hospice program. Follow the trails of how people got on the lists. The journey they took. The stress and frustration of dealing with bureaucracy. The delay of services month after months. IF you have cancer the last thing you want to hear is Im sorry; Ill call you when I get to your case, in 6 months? Time vs Cancer, cancer wins. Bureaucracy = No accountability! Your health. Your choice!
