  • The "set-smooth" option only changes the normals on the existing vertices - if you want a smoother model, you need more vertices in the first place! For an example, try making an icosphere with 2 subdivisions - then make one with 4 subdivisions... there's a noticeable difference!

    Also, have a look at the subsurf modifiers, although these don't always work in all situations.

  • I mean my models allways look solid, squary. If I use w>set smooth in edit mode, it becomes smooth, but some things look like duplicating. If I try to recalculate - nothing changes.

  • It's called 3D modelling... what a weird question to ask...
