"Get Ready" ~ Spannerman at La Locomotive, Paris, February 1992

The Circus Archaos retrospective in 2010 got me rooting about in the archive ~ I'd forgotten how much fun we had in Paris! ~ this Spannerman gig was at La Locomotive in February 1992.
Look out for (the super-cool and VERY young) Stuart Zender on bass! with 'Generator' John on Drums; also special appearances of Circus Archaos artists Fred Tousch (the burglar), Boris Arquier (dumb cop), Nathalie 'Fish-girl', Lene Lenzki and Jill 'Fabba-J' Newman.
Spannerman came together as a 'side project' during the French Circus Archaos tour "Metal Clown", which played massive shows in Copenhagen, Stockholm, Helsinki, Manchester, Dublin, London and Paris 1991-92 before running into financial difficulties and sadly parting. "Metal Clown" featured London band "The Thunderdogs".
Spannerman was the brainchild of Dan Spanner who played sax with the Thunderdogs. Paul Chousmer, sound engineer with the circus (previously keyboard player with "Fields of the Nephilim", Webcore, Zuvuya etc), played keyboards and collaborated on arrangements. Dan & Paul also have a long standing collaborative recording project "Another Green World".

Dan Spanner continues to lead this fantastic band to this day under the name 'Spanner Jazz Punks' ~ based in London, they frequently play wild shows in the UK and europe ~ check them out.
