The Mind Warp from Seppuku is capable of both dreamy, shimmering chorus sounds and far-out pitch-bending modulation. The Warp knob is essentially a blend control, with full clockwise being the dry signal only. With the Warp knob full counter-clockwise, only the wet (modulated) signal is being heard. The Depth knob also works in a similar way, as full clockwise offers the least depth of modulation. The LFO Speed offers a range of speed from crawling to lasergun pseudo-ring mod.

  • I love my mind warp. I get some crazy chorus and modulation out of this thing.

  • @pacoymarquez I just got the mk. II Mind Warp. Apparently the circuit has been reworked to clean up the sound a bit. Sounds great. My one gripe is a mostly superficial one--the new pedals have a very austere design compared to the awesome graphic on the older pedals. The Sea Machine is great too, but the pitch bending isn't quite as good. Much more Cocteau Twins-y (slight pitch modulation, but mainly chorus), which is another great sound. But the Mind Warp does that MBV-ish pitch bend the best.

  • @diamondskeletonfx Rhys, I have an old hand painted model, serial #22. I'm pretty handy with a soldering iron, and have built many a pedal. Any chances of sending me the updated values for the new changes? I really like the Mind Warp but sometimes find the modulation is more of a upwards sawtooth than a triangle. Any ideas? PM me if you have the new specs. Thanks!

  • @peacefleetcollective Replace the TL072 opamp. I just brought one back to life that was doing the same thing. Also, check the solder collets on the 5K pot, those PCB mount pots sometimes fail.

  • Hey, sorry to hear people having problems the pedal..Unfourtunatley there have been a few issues with the first bunch of mind warps i sent out :( I should have done more testing before releasing them..

I've made quite a few changes to the circuit since then. They are much more reliable now and sound alot cleaner as well. If anyone would like to have there mind warp updated to the new specs just let me know. Thanks, Rhys

  • Oh, never mind...I was getting ready to order 2 or 3 Seppuku pedals, but now I'm learning their stuff is poorly made and falls apart? GOODBYE, Seppuku...

  • @trismatics the mind warp is a good pedal but ive returned it a month ago because mine had some problems, i think that the earthquaker devices sea machine is a better choice, or if you want to save, you can just get the bbe mind bend if its still on sale at musicians friend, or you can just wait for the new tc electronics pedal lineup where one of their products include a 4 knob pitch vibrato pedal, good luck

  • @pacoymarquez

mind does work to well with the Reverb but then again mine has a problem i think i'm gonna send it in for repair.

  • @trismatics

I'm actually having this exact issue myself, even after having replaced the voltage regulator (at some point in this pedal's past, it didn't work at all) Still trying to pinpoint the problem... The LFO rate is tied in with the LED, so that the two flash in time... Did your pedal ever work without having to manually fiddle with the knob?

  • great, really want to pair this up with a reverb, do you know the current draw of this pedal? thanks really want to get this one soon
