KMT John Chiang asked "How many times should we apologize?"

Chinese Nationalist Party (KMT) Legislator John Chiang (蔣孝嚴), a grandchild of Generalissimo Chiang Kai-shek (CKS), has sued anyone who dared to claim publicly that "CKS is the primary perpetrator of the Taiwan 228 Massacre." In this interview shown, he even asked "How many times should we apologize?" In the Taiwan 228 Massacre, thousands of innocent civilians were butchered by CKS' troops sent to Taiwan, an island previously ceded to Japan in 1895 by Chin Dynasty in China.

Former KMT chairman Ma Ying-jeou said that Taiwan government, not KMT party, should compensate relatives of those killed in the February 28 Massacre of 1947.

So far, the former governing KMT party has not honestly confessed the crimes and sins made and is still lack of any sincerity in apologizing for the bloody massacre in 1947, sixty years ago! Not even a penny! At present, KMT party still holds tens of billion dollors (in terms of US dollar value) of ill-gotton assets in hand. Should not KMT party compensate victims?

Did you notice that John Chiang in this interview mistakenly alluded to something regarding the Republican Party and the Democratic Party [in US]. But, he staggered, probably because he could not think of any relevance. To many victims' families, John Chiang never showed any sympathy for the suffered, in contrast to his deceased twin brother. Ironically, rumors have it that it is likely that some close associates of CKS (John's grandfather) drew the plan to kill John Chiang's mother, perhaps to save CKS' family face.

Apology is not the right way to determine who is the responsible for the crime. It's the history that must be recorded for later generations to learn from this genocidal murder of Taiwanese by a brutal Chinese invader, Chiang Kai-shek.

That might have worked back when the KMT was filthy rich. Alas, times have changed.

Being a Taiwanese, rather than Chinese, citizen of the ROC, I don't think there's really a solution to this. Add to the fact that the KMT's only real opposition in the Taiwanese politic was so unbelievably stupid that they couldn't be allowed to remain in power, and the KMT has returned.

It'd make a great thriller novel, if it wasn't so sad.

Duh. You will care about your own family passing away but you will not shed a tear for people you don't even know and in no way connected to you dying. Do you shed tears for Iraqis who die? No, so I doubt he was going to feel bad about something that happened 60 years ago.
