"if they can get nuclear equipment from Russia, they can get parts for a plane". Well i agree with you on that one,but politic is a dirty business probably Iran government is to busy build up nuclear facilities then to worry about domestic problem

This "Sanctions" excuse does not apply to the Russian-made aircraft. As far as western aircraft are concerned, Iranians can certainly find used spare parts if they look for it, or engineer it themselves.

mikkitiny's information is correct but incomplete. Caspian air has an iran hq and a russian hq also. you forgot to mention the caspian air russian division web site. They are partners now and always have been.since it is funded by russin stakeholders.almost every news article from the international media clearly stated there is a relationship.

i found some mentioning of russians though. no any details of what and who, just noticing that foundation of the company was a joint iranian and russian interests. the company has no office in Russia, but has in Ukraune and Armenia. it never flew to any russian city. so, if some russians have some shares in the company along with Rafsanjani (lol) they are unknown in russian aviation industry. not big russian air transportation figures. ok?

mikkitiny- Go to the caspian air web site. where you will see for yourself the site is Russian. Did you bother to check the facts? Caspian Air was created in 1993 by Russian and Iranian partners.There was probably some economic aid and support from the kremlin too.  It is, in fact, a Russian & Iranian joint venture. sorry :^/

you are wrong. Russia is in difficult position. they joined US in some sanctions but they ignore others. i do not know about spare parts for passenger jets.
