About the only thing on thar market that can do what she wants and isn't Bose is Meridian F80 or M80, but they cost $3000.

Bose stands for Better Off with Something Else

The moral of the story is... Bose actually blows. Everyone who works in the A/V industry knows it. It isn't even remotely high-end. The ONLY reason Bose was so amazing successful with so many of their products in the last 20 years is because of Paul Harvey.
And now you know... the rest of the story.

Somehow i knew she was american even before the said it.

Am i the only one who would throw the woman out of store and kick her in the ass after the first 3 minutes?

@CinemaXR4 JBL, Sony, Technics, Onkyo, isnt crap you are deaf!

@warrenleeseo The thing you describe is different from "listening" to music. At a party music is usually played in the background, just to have some sound to overcome an awkward silence or to animate/control the peoples mood. However, if you want to listen to music to fully enjoy they will tell the difference and complain - maybe not if they are polite.

@Divacoolstyle Exactly!!!

OH MY GODDEH!! lol if she wanted just that then why did she go to a high end store? "i want everything in one box/music to come out of the box/cd player in the box/room to be filled with sound/all for under $500...i believe there are some good "boxes" out there with that for waaayyyy less than 500!
BTW i've had some earbuds that sound pretty much tit for tat with my bf's Bose headphones....his were discounted at 180/mine were 20 bucks

Bose sucks. The ONLY thing they are good at is marketing...not audio.
@SiriuslyCold Yes there is. The Denon D-M37. The Onkyo micro systems. The Yamaha micro systems. The Teac micro system. The NAD micro system. The Cambridge radios. The Yamaha Radios. The Boston Acoustics radios. Take your pick. All better than Bose, all cheaper, all with real speakers except the radios.

Tivoli or Cambridge radios are better than the Bose, and less money. I'd show her that, maybe a Denon/Onkyo/TEAC mini system or a Rotel/NAD CD/amp, and speakers.
Been in hi-fi for 30 years and the whole market is screwed. People come in, pick your brain and then buy it online for 10% over cost. I've no interest in feeding the commodity marketplace anymore. Bose? Buy it online, and enjoy your crap. Gotta have something now? Go to Costco. Care for a steak with that plastic junk?
