Don't let the bastards crucify JC! The world, especially Britain and the BBC in particular need Jeremy Clarkson and any attempts to muzzle him using the law should be stamped upon. He was just doing his job, speaking his mind and the minds (or half-a-minds) of millions of his fellow countrymen.
Don't let anybody silence the man, there is no freedom of expression if you are only allowed to say what people want you to say.

  • so...do you agree with Jeremy and/or you disagree with the public reaction?

  • @azdoid How can you agree with a joke? I GET the joke.

  • lanky yorkshire miner public schoolboy?

  • @MetaCraken No, boy who went to a minor public school, in this case Repton. Not quite top drawer, but quite close.

  • @MartinJWillett And by the way, Britain doesn't *need* people like Clarkson. There is consumer demand for him because people like you appreciate what he has to say. If everyone thought he was a twat, he'd get no airtime. We want him- we don't 'need' him- there's no necessity for him

  • @MetaCraken We don't need anybody. The graveyards of the world are full of irreplaceable people but the world keeps turning.

  • I for one, am utterly disgusted at Jeremy Clarkson, he really has sunk to a new low now.

I mean to go on The One Show? the guy must be sick in the head. :)

  • @INeedTOExpressMyself I didn't know about the apology when I wrote this.

He might have needed to do it. There's no point in losing his job over a refusal to say sorry if people were offended by a joke. The important thing is not to be stopped from doing something similar in future. Be funny, say sorry, look sorry for a few moments, be funny again next week. Something similar has worked for Catholics for years.

  • People want to be pissed off. Jeremy Clarkson pisses them off and they are too childish to take it. Grow up kiddies, the real world is tough.

  • @MartinJWillett Hahaha, oh right. My mistake.

  • @joseffritzlismydaddy Next time you're accusing someone of elitism, try not to refer to others as rabble. Yes, I do it, but I don't accuse anyone of elitism. In fact, I think it's a good thing when it's deserved.

  • @Pseudologic Yawn, and it takes an obtuse prude with that rancid entitlement- peasant mentality not to understand the meaning of banter . Try not to take yourself or life too seriously next time. Rabble are roused because they are rabble and can do no better.

  • @MartinJWillett Fair enough.
