Yep, been there, double solid yellow lines on curves or approaching hills and even through left turn traffic islands when signalling a left turn. For some reason in the last week I've also encountered a rash of motorists passing and forcing oncoming traffic onto the shoulder, most often just to turn or stop a few blocks ahead. It costs them seconds to slow down and pass when safe.
@2locOUT...what he said. You treat the bike as any other vehicle on the road, pass only when it is safe to pass.

@2locOUT I expect people to not pass on a blind curve. There is no room for the car coming the other way at 35-40 mph. Strangely enough, the other 59 minutes of the ride involved safe passes.
What do people do when a car ahead of them is stopped, waiting to make a left turn? They stop and wait for the car going 0 miles an hour.
