  • i know not why,who could dislike John Hartford????? Really???

  • Since my first trip to the USA when I bought a John Hartford CD at Earnest Tubbs Music store in Nashville Tennessee, I have grown to admire this man and his music. I think he was one of the best proponents of early American music, and I never tire if hearing his songs and stories. I wish I could have seen John perform live, and really appreciate listening to all the uploaded video clips here on YouTube. Many Thanks to those of you who have uploaded these valuable clips here for us all to enjoy.

  • How long did JH use an RB 18? Never knew he even used one until seeing this video. Did he use it on any recordings?

  • An Ode to 'less than aspired to' men. Welcome to all women who hold on to those men. May you all prosper in your investment! 'Stand By Your Man' comes to mind. To the men who melanchollicaly (sp?) gawk into their past love's ' departure - may you be comforted by this song. To the women who saw their hopes vanish in some moment's realization - IT WASN'T YOUR MAN. IT WAS YOUR PAST.

Long live one's inner drive, be it really forever, And may your current reality be in form with your past.

  • The Big Muddy .. "Too thick to navigate .. too thin to plough" .. a classic lyric !!

  • Sweet, sweet listening !! Just hear that banjer ring !! JH is truly one of the best ever. Here is a true master of his craft & his musical genre at work, doing what he does best .. playing live to a very appreciative audience. Fantastic post !!

  • Saw the tour for this one at Chattanooga's Tivoli Theater, fall of '75. New Grass Revivial opened, and for the curtain closer the captain of the Julia Belle Swain came out and joined in with his banjo. They were touring down the river, Chattanooga does not have the JB Swain anymore, I think it is in Wisconsin. Hartford was a good nautical man, creative beyond belief, too, and funny as a drunk bicycle...

  • Why are yanks so hateful?

  • Aeroplane was released on CD at some point...i have the disc at my dads house. dont know if its still avail though.
