You sir are an idiot. I live beside a "reclaimed" strip job and I can tell you that it's nowhere near what it once was. Fescue grass, briars, and a few honey locust trees don't replace a hardwood forest. My father, grandfather, and great grandfather were all underground miners, but they sure as hell didn't want the mountains they grew up in to be turned into a half ass prairie full of sediment ponds.

I know !if it's not some pre organized beach resort like in Jamaica they just don't get it. all people know now is how much things cost now if you had to pay $5000.00 for a ticket to Kentucky or West Virginia they'd all want to go and be impressed. Unbelievable. Powerful. Poetical. Heartbreaking. Triumphant. I just want to be down there, looking at the hollers in January, smelling the smoke, looking at the bare maple and oak trees, and climb the highest moutain around and look across three counties and feel it. I want to feel the REALNESS of it. This music is real. It's as real as it gets. Once I told a well-travelled friend I wanted to go to Kentucky. "Why??" he said. Some people just don't get it. And they probably never will.
