  • The Hindustani Devgandhar is quite different. Abdul Karim was familiar with Karnatak music from his stay in Mysore and journeys to South India, during one of he died.

  • His voice is sublime! Smooth as silk-the best of the best.

First at the baroda court, then in Bombay and finally in Miraj

  • naaaaaaaiiiiiiiiiiiccccccccccceeeeeeeeeee

  • Didn't Ustad Abdul Karim Khan Saheb sing in Baroda Gaekwad's court?

I used to listen to this voice as a child on All India Radio. May be that's why I like/love classical music, despite the fact that I don't understand it at all.

  • Ustad Abdul Karim Khan along with pandit DV Paluskar remain perhaps the best melodious classical voices ever in the history of recorded hindustani classical music.

  • Very accomplished voice. Thanks Vipan Bhai and Mirza ji for sharing and uploading.

  • I agree.. Vipan Bhai is very special to all of us, music lover...

  • No u are not average, but u are above average.I have to still come across such brilliant personalites. U are one of them.

    With respect. Sarla.

  • Well said, Sarlaji. Aren't we glad that this ratna sang in the 20th century so we average people could enjoy his talent?
