Yeah, he sounds like the kind of guy that would be our national hero if he was announcing our hockey games. Just like Antero Mertaranta is now (search him in youtube and you know what I mean)

@ThomasBellarusa The announcer is Gunars Jekabsons, if I'm not mistaken. Dude's really old now, but he still works for this one radio station and announces hockey games. We sometimes would mute the TV and listen to him instead. Because - just like you said - he's very passionate about hockey. And he has that old-school charisma about him.

And, yes, that's Arturs Irbe. The greatest goal-keeper we've ever had.
