A studio recording of Frank Foster's arrangement of the great Duke Ellington tune "In A Mellowtone" performed by Dick Cully and his Big Band from the album "Strike Up The Band" which was a favorite of the DJ Jonathan Schwartz on WNEW - AM radio in New York City and featuring John Kricker on trombone accompanied by some personal photo's..

    The band is so tight and what can I say about Cully? As usual, he blows me away, especially on his little splash break. Unlike Rodney Dangerfield, Cully you do get the respect.
