PS Latest EW album is "EW sings the APP that never was", the 1st of a series of albums in which he completes abandoned APP songs. You find the link to the official APP website on my channel homepage.

Yes :-)
I must add.. nominally all APP works are credited Woolfson/Parsons, but in practice Eric is the author of the majority of the songs, while Alan is the author of the majority of the instrumentals. There are of course exceptions, and both contributed on the production side.
McCartney's Yesterday is another example of song born without lyrics.
Generally in music I find quite interesting the process of songwriting.. sometimes one begins with music, others with lyrics, others together.

Wow, I'm so not up-to-date about his & Alan's latest work!
Funny he says 'music is easy, lyrics are hard'. I realize that music should come before lyrics. But I've never been able to come up with a catchy or sophisticated melody, THAT would be hard for me. And hearing this about Eric Woolfson, a genius song writer, is shocking. APP melodies are so intricate, layered, intelligent, logical (you see I lack proper terminology)...and he considers melodies EASY!?
-
He almost always writes first music then lyrics, cause music is easy and lyrics difficult. Of course APP lyrics are wonderful, they have different possible interpretation, he does it on purpose, but that requests a lot of job. Just a couple of days ago on his Facebook page he announced that the basic tracks of his next album are completed, and he now begins the lyrics.

:-))
ERIC said that? Oh, I get all fuzzy reading this!! :-)
Not to compare my lyrics to his, but still....
I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOVEEEEEE APP lyrics!!!

Yes, I noticed the "Urbania" words. I must admit i didn't know the original song.
Lyrics: yes it's a long job writing them. Eric always says that! :-)
