Shelly's name fit her completely.
Her personality and eyes were both similar to an empty shell.
Which, when you think about it, is ironic, because it's said that the eyes are the "window" to the soul.
Her eyes, although a gorgeous blue-gray, were hollow and emotionless.
And that was exactly the same way I'd describe her personality.
She never spoke, never made a face besides her default expression, which was bored.
And yes, I learned all of this within forty minutes of working with her.
Mostly because there wasn't much to know....
Or maybe there was.
There had to be something behind Shelly's soulless eyes and bored stare. I could feel it. She was more than just a blank page. There was something hidden within her. She was a mysterious person - I just had to figure out her puzzle.
And the fact that she was an intelligent, gorgeous-faced, beautiful artist was just the beginning of her secrets.
The bell rang, meaning that class was over.
And guess what?
Shelly and I were the only ones who had finished our project.
Mrs. Moore congratulated us excitedly, then dismissed the class.
"So...are you in my next class?" I asked Shelly, not expecting anything but a wordless answer.
Shelly shook her head, causing her greasy hair to be thrown into her face, and I frowned.
"Oh...well...do you want to sit together at lunch?" I asked politely.
Shelly shrugged, and I considered that as a "yes".
"Great. I'll see you then."
We parted our separate ways after that.
Shelly retreated down the hall, and I went to cooking.
I walked in about a minute after the second bell rang, but I wasn't scolded.
I was getting sympathy because of my memory loss....
