I'm pretty sure it's the larger group that Kaba Modern branches off from. That's why it's Kababayan, or just Kaba for short.

no offense to anyone out there. But we do not view PCN as a competition where year after year we have to "beat" other routines. To us it is merely an expression of ourselves and our culture, because in essence we're tlaking about the same culture and to say that santa clara or any other schoolshow their culture better goes against the whole point of what PCN should be about

WAY TOO THEATRICAL, now thats both a good thing and a bad thing. good=eye candy for the uneducated masses. bad=doesnt keep up with tradition, as our 'foremother of folkdancing said',''let folkdance be as that, dances of the folk''. however i do applaud for the difficulty of execution

Thank you all very much for your Comments. We took an abstract look at the dance. The dance in traditional story form are the tikling birds escaping the traps set from farmers to capture them. Throughout Filipino literature the bird has come to represent the PHillipines and its people i.e. Bayan Ko. Our rationale for the "showiness" and theatrics was that struggle is not just linear it comes at you from every way shape and form and that no matter what you could not put our people down.
