Websites 'blackout' over anti-piracy bill

In a protest that will affect millions of people across the globe, Wikipedia, along with many other websites, is shutting down for 24 hours.
The websites are protesting against legislation pending in the US Congress intended to crack down on online sales of pirated US movies, music or other goods by forcing internet companies to block access to foreign sites.
Al Jazeera's Cath Turner reports from New York.

@Ralph4pig - The money spent on lobbying for the SOPA bill was much more. And was raised from the entertainment industry, which is carried dissposable income. The lobby countering the SOPA bill is funded much lower, through donations. But these two things don't matter in economic decline. What you guys need is some good old GDP. More goods, to back the abundance of services and currency inflation. Or would you rather buy cheap at wal-mart and support import, over inland export and production?

These money-suckers are so greedy that they've got Google pulling music off of You Tube that was recorded in 1969 & 70. And all they did back then was screw musicians over. The US is slowly becoming a prison within a country... For every thing 'bad' that happens on the Internet there are a thousand positives including innovations that have moved the world forward ten folds. The greedy Movie industry needs to change their business model like the Music industry has done (and is starting to accept) It comes down to making money and the Movie industry is more interested in greed than changing around the consumers needs that is what it comes down too.
