My neighbor cut down some tree branches I don't know what there made of but there really soft. So i bound a few of them together and they cut pretty well. a lot like 1" bamboo.

  • Hi I saw many videos of you cutting with different katanas and i was wondering What is your opinion about this katanas cutting and handling compared to cheness katanas?

I havent tried either and am about to buy my very first katana (hoping it will be my last too) and i am not sure about what to get however on the high end i like the bushido :) (does it have a real hamon by the way?)

    Thanks :)

  • @Okarkar bushido vs cheness is no contest. cheness has always had horrible quality issues. bushido is worth every penny.

yes it does have a real hamon and it is differentially tempered.

  • @icyberia I c thanks, its cuz i heard of the spring steel cheness use is really good for cutting :)

Btw was wondering if you have tried the new high alloy katans by hanwei? was wondering about them too but i havent been able to find anything about them

I dont like their design but the blades seem really strong and i can get them right now for less than bushido, but i dont know if i should sacrifice the look for the power :|

Thanks again for answering man :)

  • @Okarkar yea the 9260 spring steel is strong but it doesnt hold an edge very well, so if you intend to cut anthing besides water bottles I really suggest not using any 9260 steel, something you should check out is T10 steel.

I havent had any expericne with the new "high alloy steel" blades. it looks like their using there own designation for the type of steel HWS-2S.

  • Nice... I really like this Katana... If I had the money I'd buy the Daisho and the tanto... lol... ahh if only.

Right now I'm using the practical plus.

  • @Aikidopoi the tanto is gold plated over wood. the gold can and will wear off.

  • I have the Kami by Hanwei, and have been eying the Bushido. Very sleek blade. I like the brown theme

  • @icyberia oh really? I had heard it was a little flash... but wow. I guess I'd just want that Daisho then.

  • Nah, i agree, the tanto is too much "blingbling" :) ive had it for about 7 months now. very pleased with it :)

  • awesome, did you get it recently? I dont like the way they are making the tanto now a days. to much gold.
