  • Revisiting my comment from 8 months ago. Bad day, my apologies for raging.

The C-130 has turboprop engines that generate a very low heat signature - much lower than a jet engine - and any heat is rapidly dissipated by the turbulent airflow from the props and airflow over the wings. Targeting video from Soviet and allied heat seeking systems on passing C-130's showed a consistent inability to lock onto the heat signature of the aircraft. The only consistent lock came on the A/C pack.

  • @SASScoundrel, Could you at least explain to me, nicely, where i was wrong so i can learn from my mistake?

  • @SASScoundrel, Ok wow, so i was wrong. I would've thought you could at least be nice in correcting my mistake instead of raging at me.

  • @pommyrooter - You shouldn't prove yourself to be such an idiot, it's painful to watch. C-130 actually has a very low heat signature thanks to the turbofan engines and blast of air from the props. The AC unit puts out more heat than the engines. Try joining the military and learning about the subject before creating a black hole by opening your mouth.

  • Made me think of my father Ret Lt Col Keith K. RItter

served 27 years USAF RIP Thanks for the video!. Awesome.

  • Love the opening with "Fat Albert"--sorry to say, he no longer has JATO.

  • @xpkiel, These planes are prime targets for heat seekers for an example. Someone with a higher understanding of these planes could explain in greater detail.

  • @xpkiel

Distract/Avoid Heat-Seaking Missiles, and many other Reasons...

  • why do they send out flares

  • C-130 one of the most AWSOME plans ever. My dad was a prop man on C-130 for 35 years. Thanks for the video!!!!!!!!!!!!!
