I have the Carthy / Swarbrick LP from '67 called Byker Hill. It's old and worn, but I still play it regularly. A wonderful album! Maybe I should buy the CD so I can keep the LP more intact... But I don't like cd's all that much, they have no soul ;-)

I notice Martin is playing with a capo. I know he played in a different tuning when he first recorded this. I'm assuming it's in the same key but I'm pretty sure Swarb could keep up no matter what key he played it in. Good lad.

that was amazin im ashamed that any fairport lovers ,and there are lots ,av not made comment on this ,come on SWARB can play that fiddle ,he old now and in not good health ,god bless him and his profesional playing that nobody can toutch see him in the hanging song on the old grey whistle test early 70,s
