@boogynights then they should go to boxing which was originally intended as a sport which was later turned into a self defense. but things like tae kwon do or ju-jitsu were meant to prevent someone harming oneself

@shadowhawk72 I respect that those techniques and are meant in combat and the sport behind the mix fight is holding the true source of what it really is meant for but it's regulated in competition in full contact sparring. To not intend to kill but to show all above in martial way of living in pride and challenge, honor, displaying skills with one others skills in non-battle conditions is regardless can be a sport.

@boogynights translation : fighting each other with techniques that were developed to defend oneself. every single self defense teaches to only use what you know if you are attacked. i don't see anybody getting attacked there. i see two parties willing using their knowledge to harm one another

I agree, MMA isn't a sport. It' a lifestyle. If you're an athlete in MMA, you live and breathe fighting. MMA is something on an completely different level. No sport is like MMA.
