on Fathersday 09 the Durbin & Greenbrier Valley Railroads Cheat Mountain Salamander made its First Trip to Beverly. I was there to ride the train and snap pictures of this historic event!

  • Great vid but I was under the impression that the Cheat River Salamander was a single-unit motorcar that ran along-the Cheat River! Also I see one track at Elkins Station was re-laid. Still an interesting route, though-wish it went as far south as the US 219 crossing at Dailey!

  • This video is old so thats why it kinda sucks, but this was a test route down the daily branch to see if anyone would ride that train, They didnt run down to daily cause they have cars stored down the mainline and theres nothing down there to do for the passengers, Beverky had a bunch of the old Civil war museums an cool stuff. They are selling of the old Motor car and they replaced it with 3 40ft passenger cars that can make the curve at high falls. Its a great trip from Elkins to Spruce!!!
