Palisades Amusement Park 1928 Skyrocket, 1935 fire, 1971 Cyclone roller coasters

This is some edited clips of the Skyrocket roller coaster in 1928 at Palisades Amusement Park in Cliffside, NJ. Also edited in a few seconds of Cyclone clips from the 1971 to complete the circuit. Then you will see some clips of the 1935 fire that destroyed part of the park. The huge Safety Coaster can be seen in the background. I reversed the clip to show it again, hence the man running backwards. Incredible footage. Enjoy.

The first part right up until you see the view of the tracks from the first car and the final footage of the 1928 sequence where the people are exiting the roller coaster does look authentic but I very much agree about the cars which look to me more like 1968 than 1928. It looks to me like two pieces of film approximately 40 years apart spliced together. The 1935 sequence looks to be authentic with dubbed in sound.

@singinjohnny - very observant. That's pretty much what I did. Most people do not read the description before they watch the clip, but I explained exactly what I did. I wanted to make it a full clip of the Skyrocket/Cyclone, so I spliced in scenes from the 60's to complete the circuit. Also, the sirens are fake. :):)

I wanted to see the wildmouse, that ride scared the shit out of me, it would take a hard turn ride over the cliff and you think its going to dump you into the abyss. I even saw a coffin or two at the bottom of the cliffs for effect.
