The humanitarian assistance you feel we are lying about does happen and as of 2009 really has become Canada's main focus in Afghanistan. This sort of aid could not happen in an instable country and it has taken years to get parts of Afghanistan even remotely stable enough to begin re building it. People have no idea just how bad of a state Afghanistan was in under Taliban rule and don't realize that change is not instant. There is zero profit for the west to be had in Afganistan we can only help

Islam does not teach subjugation and abuse of women, that was just the Taliban and other extremist conservative sects of Islam (not actual Islamic teaching).

What's the alternative? Leave and let the country fall back into the hands of the Taliban? Remember that, before NATO intervened in Afghanistan it was the training ground for extremists who are committed to harming not only America but all of the western world. And committed to the spread of a faith which teaches the subjugation and abuse of women. Canada is not a lackey or a poodle. In fact, our two nations share many common interests, both at home and abroad, and security is most important.

Does Canada really want to be as hated as the U.S? Few actions produce as much hate as invading and occupying a foreign country, especially under the lie of "giving humanitarian assistance". In foreign policy, how is Canada different from minor Warsaw Pact countries during the Cold War?
