This is my personal top 5 Japanese developed games of 2011. It's a different kind of top 5 list as I have avoided most of the games everyone else seems to be putting in their lists.

Don't forget to comment with your own top 5 lists! They don't even have to be gaming related. Actually I totally encourage random top 5 lists! I'll even start you off:

Top 5 H.P. Lovecraft stories:
#5 At the Mountains of Madness
#4 The Dunwich Horror
#3 Call of Cthulhu
#2 The Whisperer in Darkness
#1 Shadow over Innsmouth

Top 5 Non-Japanese Games of 2011

#5 Hulk Hogan's Main Event
#4 Hulk Hogan's Main Event
#3 Nicktoons MLB
#2 Hulk Hogan's Main Event
#1 Hulk Hogan's Main Event

  • The King of Fighters xiii is a work of art.

  • @SuperHighTechGamer I agree. It's one of the best looking fighters that I can think of.

  • I like seeing Catherine at the top of the list (it would be in my top 5 games by any developer in 2011). Nice channel---good to see a different perspective.

  • @peterpez Yeah, it was definitely in my top 5 for the year even if I wasn't talking about only Japanese developed games. I think I spent more time with that game than almost anything else this year.

  • you ever played any Sengoku Basara games Corny???????????

  • @DaAsianMan666 I've played Basara 1 and 2 on the PS2 but I haven't played any of the more recent ones (3 and the fighter). I'm not sure if I like those more than Dynasty Warriors or the other way around.

  • @relewis2011 Some of them are understandable because they haven't been released outside of Japan but the others you should definitely try out! Definitely get Shadows of the Damned. If you like crude humor, fun gameplay, and 3rd person shooters then the game is great.

Catherine is really really good. I was addicted to it for a while. I couldn't stop playing. I still play it every once in a while.

  • @DekaBlz I'm really enjoying KoFXIII. Though I got tired of not being able to do any combos so I broke down and ordered a stick yesterday. Hopefully that will speed me up a bit.

Catherine was great. It's got a good story and an addictive play style. Definitely pick it up if you like puzzle games.

  • A VERY nice list of games, and the sad thing? I haven't played one of these! LOL. Speaking of Suda 51, though, I actually just picked up No More Heroes on the Wii the other day, so I'm excited to get my hands on the game. Shadows of the Damned looks very quirky, over the top, juvenile, and hella fun! :) I'm sure I'll be picking it up soon, because the price has dropped significantly since its release.

I've always been interested in Catherine since I heard about it, so I'm sure I'll get it too!

  • King Of Fighters XIII...! Im happy to hear that 1 on ur list ^_^

Catherine doesnt surprise me; it seemed vary innovative.
