To celebrate hitting one million views on our channel, here's a video to get you all in the mood for summertime. It was filmed in the outdoor classroom. It's one of the songs on our CD, 'A Pocket Full of Change' which can be purchased at Crystal Ball Records, online.

  • Great job and great example of the sort of light, breezy R&B that is commonly known as "beach music" here in the Southeastern US. And so is "My Girl". There's a lot more "beach tunes" that would really fit your style and voices, too. (Maybe "My Guy" or "Hello Stranger".) Anyway, I love you guys. I used to be a radio DJ and I've been telling all my friends in the music business about you. ! Are you going to be offering any MP3 downloads on iTunes or Amazon, though?

  • @jrs1010 Thanks for the kind words. We don't have any plans for downloads at this point. However, Crystal Ball Records has produced a CD featuring 21 of the girls' songs, and it's available online. I think Amazon also has the CD for sale, but it costs a little more.

  • Sarah's performance on the 2nd alto part really makes this one work for me. Everyone seems to be having fun with it.

  • @Jazzbeu55 I've been doing this with my choir throughout the fall. Bailey sings lead, with a whole choir to back her up. Oddly enough, the FQ never did this song in public for anyone, nor did they do What Child is This. They did it only for their youtube 'audience'. So I'm doing this right now with my choir for Christmas. No point in letting a good arrangement go to waste.

  • Twas a great hit of the Drifters a half century ago. It's so nice that you, rising generation, still appreciate the tune of our days. I hope you are not drifting around your universities but determined.

Your smiles are golden. Congratulations, four ladies.

  • YOU ROCK !!!

  • @bet624 Yes, I'm aware that the Four Quarters are singing a song by the Drifters here. (Hey, I used to be a beach-music DJ on the radio in Virginia, so I'm certainly familiar with the Drifters' recordings!) I was actually replying to the post by galati55 just below this one. He referred to the Jamies, but incorrectly gave the title of their record as "It's Summertime....

  • @jrs1010 Wrong! It's "Under the Boardwalk" by the Drifters. (Summertime, Summertime is a completely different song).

  • You guys are amazing.... WOW! Thank you for sharing this!

  • I was around when this song came out. Great song, Good Job!!

  • The song is actually called "Summertime, Summertime". Though not a huge national hit in the US, it was a top 10 record in Chicago. It was played heavily on 50,000-watt clear-channel WLS radio in the summer of 1962.

  • Speaking of summertime, How about that old song, "Its Summertime" by the Jamies ?

  • Fantastic work ladies.
