Did you see Nigeria vs Argentina. With out Messi that squad is lost, he saved Argentina. With a fantastic assists(VISION), and a fantastic dribble. He is developing rapidly.

He gave 25 assists last year, and i am sure he will produce over 30 assists this season.

@SAD90901 I suppose I can't deny Messi's qualities. Van Persie is also a player that produces a lot of assits. Mainly in his role as a target man. I just think that Van Persie is better in the way that he is a much more complete and versatile player than Messi is. He has to play in a squad where he is by far the focal point of the attack. Messi is just another part in a passing move that Barca pull off time after time. I think that Van Persie does much more than messi on the field.

@totaalvoetbal But listen, Messi's team (as you like to put it) plays in a lesser league than Van Persies team. Which means Messi has an easier job overall, together with his team, to win stuff. I suppose that doesn't explain how he kicks ass in the champions league, but then its just all up to the players around him. You see, Messi has the best squad in the world around him. Now, Van Persie is one of the best in the world to utilize space. What is he had Fabregas with him ?

i know RVP is an amazing player..but messi can do the most two important thing in football which is: score+assist..RVP amazing goal scorer..ok also messi is so amazing..messi can pass against 2 and 3 players by himself !! and he can kills any team with one assist..like he did vs Madrid (abidal's goal) + his assist vs Milan (Xavi's goal)

As much as i like VPersie's style. He is not as good as Messi. Messi: more goals, more assists, more keypasses, more chances created. He can create chances for himself, like no one can.

No, Messi is far above every player today.

Van persie's team is less good. Messi's team is better. But Messi's team and himself are playing better. Your argument would only stand if both team played at the same level and won the plus minus the same cups. But that is not the case at all!

@totaalvoetbal Oh, didn't realise your comment is 5 months old. Anyway, just saying that ATM, Van Persie is better than Messi. I mean, sure, Messi scores 3 to 4 games very once and a while. But unlike Van persie, Messi has a world class team around him and he plays in a lesser league. Cause, lets face it. Van Persie basically carries Arsenal single handedly now. Messi is just another good player, or maybe just another great player in Barcelona.
