after looking at this video which is in higher quality than most i must say that the damage that occurs in this first scene is not consistent with what is seen when mikey talks to his father.. pay attention to the printer and things on the desk in the first scene... specifically pay attention to the rubber door stop when paul jr. smashes the door into it... that damage is not scene after mikey walks in supposedly after the fight..
what i think happened is that paul was fired then mikey talks to his father and then the big fight happens probably the next day
