@ajchien question? my mom has a 03 element and just yesturday the transmission light came on and it start it to shake everytime she tried to get up to speed and its worrying my mom about it and i get people telling me is a bad move to replace the fluid because it shorts the life of the trans. is it true? i would like a respond back please i need help.thanx. it has 102,882 milles on it its a automatic...

@DtoWnSux1 NEVER do a power flush with a Honda, ever.

Great Video, Thanks. I'm going to change my ATF Tomorrow. When I bought the ATF fluid Honda said they are switching to ATF DW-1 begining this year, so I'll be using that in my 07. Thanks take care!

@wezzy26. I think you're better off asking that transmission fluid question at the "bob is the oil guy" website. You might also seek advice at the elementownersclub d o t com website. To me it seems that a drain and fill of the trams fluid should be no problem. But I would think that a warning light on the dash should prompt you to hook the car up to an obd2 reader and see what the car computer is telling you.

since my manual 2003 element doesnt have a torque converter. SHOULD i just do the fluid change one time or should i repeat 3times every hundred or so miles to clean it out b/c its gone 130k miles WITHOUT transmission fluid drain/fill. please let me know

@DtoWnSux1 I think you should go to hondasuv.com or and ask those folks for their opinion. I own an auto transmission, so I'm not familiar with the manual trans recommendations.

i have a 2003 honda element 5speed manual. has 130k miles on it i just bought it. never had transmission fluid changed b4. Is it safe to get it flushed? honestly i am scared to find out i want some advice. please if you know alot about manual transmissions let me know. this car wasnt driven hard but i has 132996miles on it with never having trans fluid changed out or flushed. please let me know what you think. Thanks
