If you don't have a kiln you can start with making your own fused glass pendants by using one of the GlassArtProjects kits, they come with everything and they even fire it for you. Super easy for people to just play and make something cool (kids too).

That is a Rio enamel adhesive, a water-soluble adhesive that holds enamel in place and burns off during firing.
