  • Just got a Springfield Defender and this video helped me a lot.

  • @JavascriptHacker I appreciate that. This is a video I do plan on redoing though. I am a pro at disassembly on this and all 1911's now. I really dove in and learned the system quickly. Thank you and I am happy it helped. : )

  • @ChromeFreak123 Thank you!

  • @LifeisGood762 Bro., that is something I have never thought of showing on video but maybe I will do just that. There is a special made tool to use and I may do that in a video very soon. Thanks. : )

  • @ChromeFreak123 How do you take the plunger tube off?

  • @derail516 Yes I have the manuel and no I did not read it and learned that lesson. That is why the video is still up and I did not edit it out. I could easily hide mistakes but choose to share my pain, lol. Anyways, I learned and hopefully, so do others who do not read fully. Thanks. : ) P.S. I have since completely learned not only this 1911 but also every 1911 you can think of and can do all my own work including high quality trigger jobs and many others. Thanks again.

  • @ chromefreak do you have the manual for the gun? It clearly tells you to fully cock the hammer, put the pin in the hole on the mainspring housing, then let the hammer back down. This saves your whole struggle after knocking the bottom pin put of the frame.

  • @Lookinformemarbles I thank you for watching it Mike. I made this video before I was partner and only had 10:59 to get it done. lol. I really need to re-shoot this one and the re assembly. I am going to do a quick VR but what stinks is I have to do it on my iphone because of time constraints. Thanks again Mike.
