Ever since losing his wife in a terrible car accident many years ago, neuro-biologist Dr. David Styles has become a recluse, leaving his English mansion Dread Hill House only on rare occasions. One day student and street artist Samantha Everett shows up on his door step unexpectedly, at a time Styles just happens to look for a new assistant. Her first assignment involves finding six volunteers for an experiment planned by Styles at Oxford University. The experiment begins harmless enough, but soon strange things start happening. Styles is visited by his beloved, but deceased, wife. Now it is up to Sam to solve the mysteries of Dread Hill House.

i really hope that jane decided to do at least basically "more of the same" because since GK3, the longest journey has been the only adventure game i've enjoyed nearly as much... and it's been a really long time since then.
as for GK2 - you're absolutely right. it's such a pity that FMV adventures are either bad (except phantasmagoria 1 & 2) or simply not my cup of tea (tex murphy). when i actually was living in munich for some time, it was strange to see that place from the game... ;)

I agree, though I enjoyed the Syberias quite a bit, I found The Longest Journey to be a much better game. It was far more novel-like, which is more along the lines of what Jane does with her games.
I prefer the look of the first two games as well, though I liked some of the backgrounds in GK3. GK2 was so atmospheric, visually and otherwise, that I felt I was actually wandering through Germany myself.

exactly... beautiful environment. as interesting as GK3 was, i still prefer GK1 & 2 in terms of artwork... those pixelated sprites IMO still look better than rough polygon shapes...
and syberia? really? what about the longest journey? personally, i think that's much closer to old school adventure fun than syberia... that game didn't manage to keep me interested at all...

So happy to hear how big the game will be! And Jane is a Buffy fan - I love it. :D
