A Kollywood Love Story: All About Him/Kaadhal Konjum Mashup Cover

So this is East Meets West Part 4. We mashed two fairly new songs: All About Him - by Auburn & Kaadhal Konjum from the movie Pachaikili Muthucharam...

This remix took us the longest time to make. First we met up at my place to work on the arrangement and write our own lyrics. Two weeks later, we met at Thiri's to record the video... The experience was turbulent. There were times where we loved the songs and really felt the music and then there were periods where we just seemed to miss that spark. But I guess that's part of the creative process...

In terms of lyrics - we wanted to express ourselves. We tried to bring out some of the challenges we've faced and how we're often looked at as mere 'youtube musicians'. We wanted to make a point that if you love something, you should chase it with all your heart and hopefully our intended meaning was conveyed.

Finally, I'm still not happy with this video. Although we spent a lot of time working on it, I feel that we didn't execute as effectively as we should've. I think a large factor was tiredness. After working on a song over a long period of time, sometimes it just doesn't come together. No matter how hard you try. I'm also a little scared that because the songs we've covered aren't the biggest hits, people may not find this as 'catchy' as our previous vids.

Nonetheless, I thought I'd still put this video up because though it may not be our best, it is taking us out of our comfort zone and it's a crucial step toward us developing an original sound of our own.

So that's the story behind this video... We hope it makes you smile =)
