Poignant, stark, gritty black and white anti-drug film made sometime around 1968 centering around a heroin-addicted young man's last hours peppered with interview/commentary segments and a jazz/R&B song lamenting the film's subject playing throughout.

8 years 7 months and 15 days clean. Life will always be a bitch. When the hustle dies so does the hustler. The habit will kill you unless you are lucky. Get on the methadone waiting list. When you go to the clinic don't listen to the people, not your family, nobody. Listen to yourself. Put it in your mind you won't mix ANYTHING with methadone. It is your only recourse. Don't bother commenting to me I didn't say all of this for a reaction. I said it because I want another person to stay alive!
