Les Revenants aka They Came Back (MOVIE REVIEW)

SPOILERS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Les Revenants is a french drama / fantasy / sci fi (?) movie directed by Robin Campillo. It was released in 2004.

This movie had a good premise. Millions of dead people are suddenly alive again. Clean clothes, no open wounds or signs of decay. Normal looking people walking out of cemeteries.

Politicians are scrambling to find ways to reintegrate them into society. They set up military camps to house them until family members come and identify them and bring them home.

The movie deals mainly with the grief people go through seeing their dead relatives again. The people who have returned are slightly off. They don't sleep. They wander around at night and get together at some office building for some strange reason. NOTHING IS EXPLAINED BTW !

I really wanted to like it, but the lack of anything happening for a reason bothered me to no end. Nothing was even slightly explained. Why did they come back, where did they go ? Why are they 5 degrees cooler ? WTF !?

A very slow and, in the end, frustrating movie. No gore. No action. Thought provoking, but also, pointless.

Yeah, it had some good potential, but I feel like it was squandered by some clumsy writing. It was put together well, but it was frustrating because nothing was ever explained. Everything seemed to happen for no reason.

If you want to see a good French movie, watch, "Le diner du comps" or "The Dinner Game" in English.

That will be one of the funniest movies you will ever see. If you watch it, review too, I want to see what you would think about that movie.

I just really want to know what would happen if the ghost people (because they are not zombies) anyway the ghost guy, impregnates the girl. Half ghost/zombie/human baby. That would be awsome. That's how they should of ended it.

Well. I understand what you mean. But seriously, I´ll gve this a try someday. I never saw this kind of a zombiemovie.

Do you maybe know other "serious" zombiemovies like this which are better?
