Pantagruel's Nativity é do segundo álbum do Gentle Giant lançado em 1971 (Acquiring The Tast). O vocal predominante é de Kerry Minnear. Patagruel's Nativity consegue ser doce e sombria ao mesmo tempo. Essa mistura ficou espetacular!!!

  • the jingle sound around 4 minutes reminds me of Magnum Opus by Kansas. They must have been inspired by Gentle Giant!

  • LOVE the MOOG in this song

  • jesus...this songs organization is epic...the overlayed sound effects and crazy synth and harmonization...this is gentle giant right here!

  • At the time this album came out, I was an English major, but an aspiring musician taking a music class which had an intro to music theory and a section on theme and development.

Upon hearing this song, I immediately recognized the clever organic theme development going on.

Almost like Beethoven's 5th, they base nearly the entire song on the characteristics of the musical motif in the intro (played on synth).

And they did quite a bit of that in a number of their other wonderful songs.

    WOW.

  • Read Rabelais' "Gargantua and Pantagruel" and you will know what they are singing about. Badabec, Pantagruel's mother died during childbirth.

  • i love love love this song *_*
