@Heli2112 you're wrong...we don't have communism in our country...we have capitalism, and that capitalism brought us where we are now...we have been living in heaven, and now when we came back to reality, we realised how fucked we are...we can't join in EU, because we have fucked up economy, we sold our best companies already...if we join EU, after 10-15 years, we will be like Greece...

I'm from Croatia, and i completely agree with everything stated by mr. Helmer! We have the most corrupt government in the world.

Croatian economy reached level of 1989 in 2010 thanks to LOANS from IMF
DEBT based economy is not sustainable. Especially when you have Croatian politicians stealing what is left of state owned companies.
HDZ or Croatian Democratic Union is still in power in Croatia since 1990. Same people for 21 years. Corruption has to be there.

@marinhcst OMG he spent one week in Croatia?!?!?!? Really? Really??? Mr Roger are you truly competent for commenting on status of Croatia? I am from Croatia and I think Croatia should make WHOLE lot of changes. but I advise Mr Helmer at least to spend more time in Croatia and then make his remarks and give us facts and numbers. I hear Great Britain has lots of issues = Am I competent on commenting their issues?

CROATIA wanted independence from YUGOSLAVIA in 1991 and they got it.
Thinking they will live and have standard of living like people in Austria and Germany , if They embrace Capitalism.
Just the opposite happened. CROATIA today is worse than it was in 1989.
