Stupenda! Famosissima per Puccini ma secondo me il suo repertorio era questo.

Thanks for posting this. Every day I discover all the amazing talents of this great soprano. I really enjoyed this aria, especially for the colourful notes of her voice.

@enfava Thanks for the effort and for your comments. I'm about to post another surprising interpretation by Mme Kabaivanska.

I treasure this recording but want you all to know that it is a commercial studio recording. Raina had terrific high notes, so I doubt that her brilliant C# in the finale would be any less brilliant, but it is good to know that she had opportunities to patch things up.I own this Bulkanton recording on an RCA Italiana LP and would love to know if anyone knows of a CD transfer! It also includes Pamira's prayer from Siege of Corinth, equally brilliant in execution!

This recording was a bonus track to an unlabled CD of a live performance. Hence, I suppose somebody has already transferred it. I don't doubt the quality cannot be compared to the original.
I'd love to see RCA taking care of the recordings you mentioned. In their Red Seal series I found out 24 sopranos but Raina Kabaivanska was not amongst them.
She had several thematic recitals issued by RCA in vinyl (1979-1981). All in all we have a 2CD set compilation, currently of scarce availability.

No limits for her talent!

You're right of course but I'd go further by saying that there's no limits for Her Mind, Heart, Soul and Spirit. The talent is an "instrument" that is nothing without the Perception of the Divine Harmony connecting all pieces of human imperfections.
Therefore, if we are so confined to appraise only her talent we'd miss the Core of Her Mission and Sacred Devotion that is in fact Her Oreol.
