  • Did you need to change your sparkplugs to firestorm type plugs to avoid damage from the plasma.

    Great stuff!

  • I am currently using "copper marine" plugs by Champion, not because of any damage to the regular plugs, these just give a better plasma effect than regular plugs. I am using less than 3uF discharge caps, there is no visible plug damage. I am still waiting for firestorms to become available, would like to observe plasma being generated on them.

  • Thank you for the kind comment. And yes, the crankshaft does turn twice as fast as the cam. I won't need to ACTUALLY run at 5,800 rpm, just seeing how far I could push the envelope. I'm sure it would be stable at still more rpm, limited more or less, only by the distributor design and engine capability. Anyway, playing with this is so much fun!!

    5800 RPM did you realize your crank would be running at 11,600 RPM ?????!!!!!!
