The next week had started, and Katie and Alexis were worried about the boys. They hadn't called for 4 days. Katie's mom had just said that they were busy on the tour, but Katie thought something was definetly wrong.
One night, Alexis was over for a sleepover at Katie's house. So was Candice. They were sitting around, listening to music and readin magazines when Katie screamed.
Candice: WHAT'S WRONG???
Alexis: WHAT'S WITH THE SCREAM???
Katie: oh my god guys!! i just remembered.. their LIVE CHAT!!!
Alexis: hey!! ya!! they might be on the live chat!! why didn't we think of that??
Katie jumped to her computer and typed everything in super fast. Suddenly, she became silent, she was staring at the screen, lost for words.
Alexis: what is it?
Alexis walked to the computer and so did Candice. They became silent as well.
The screen said in capital letters, "THE JONAS BROTHERS WILL BE POSTPONING ALL LIVE CHATS BECAUSE OF A FAMILY LOSS"
Candice: who do you think.... is the loss??
Katie: I hope its not their mom.. she was so nice to us...
Alexis: Try calling nick again!!
Katie picked up the phone and called Nick. No one answered.
They all sat down again, and were silent, reading magazines. This time, is was Candice that screamed.
Candice: OH MY GOD LOOK AT THIS!!
Katie and Alexis hurried over to look in the magazine Candice had just bought but hadn't looked at yet.
Katie: what is it?
Alexis: is it about the jonas brothers?
Candice: look...
She pointed to an article called "Jonas Brothers Tragic Loss"
Katie: read it..
Candice read out loud: (it's only a short article)
Last Sunday, at 4:23 PM, Kevin Jonas Sr. received a phone call from a very upset Father. Kevin Sr.'s mother had died from a heart attack. The Jonas family immediatly traveled to their home town of New Jersey, where their grandparents lived. Their grandfather had already planned the funeral, and it was held just yesterday, Tuesday morning. We spoke to the brothers that evening. "She was a wonderful woman and we'll never forget her kindness to us growing up." say's Kevin Jonas, member of the Jonas Brothers group. "We miss her so much already, but we'll always have her in our hearts" says Kevin's brother Joe. Unfortunatly, Nick Jonas was unavailable for comment. "This loss hit Nick the most" says Denise Jonas, their mother. Due to this tragic loss, the Jonas Brothers Tour has been canceled.
Candice looked up at the open mouths of Katie and Alexis.
Katie felt sick. What did they mean "This loss hit Nick the most"???? Was he ok? Was he too upset to talk to anyone?
Alexis: I can't believe it.... they all must be crushed..
Candice: ya.
Katie: ummm... let's go to bed.. ok?
Alexis: sure..
Candice: ya..
They all got in their sleeping bags, and fell into an uneasy sleep.
