SANTEE - May 24, 2012 - For the second time in 2 years, a car has crashed in to the front yard of a family living at the 9300 block of Pebble Beach Drive in Santee. This time two occupants were potentially speeding through the poorly-lit neighborhood with several burnt-out street lights before launching their car over a brick wall and high-centering on it. The car narrowly missed a fire hydrant by just 4 feet. The two occupants fled, with one being caught by Sheriffs deputies shortly afterward, whom they believe to be the driver. The other suspect is still at large, whom Sheriff believe is the passenger. No one was transported. There were significant skid marks and gouging in the road from the tires, one of which was flat. The apparent driver was taken in to custody, possibly for refusing a breathalyzer and requesting a blood draw, although this is heresy. No SOT was available.
